“A 37-year member of the Council, we are saddened to hear of the passing of Governor Graham. In addition to his steadfast commitment to improving Florida’s environment and education system, Governor Graham was a great friend to the business community and a relentless advocate for growing the state’s economy.
Governor Graham was also a staunch supporter of the Council of 100 both during and after his time in office as Governor and U.S. Senator. As a result, the Council honored him multiple times, including in 2004 as he retired from public service and, most recently, in 2022 when the Council recognized his longtime contributions to the state by naming him an Outstanding Floridian. Governor Graham was truly an amazing statesman who shared the Council’s vision to find ways to improve the lives of all Floridians. He will be missed by all Floridians and his legacy will continue to touch the lives of many.”
