Broward Health and FC100 member Shane Strum (2nd from left) are improving access to primary care throughout underserved parts of Broward County.

Broward Health, in collaboration with the City of Pompano Beach, hosted a free community pop-up event this past weekend aimed at improving health access for undeserved residents in Broward County.

Held at Mitchell Moore Park, the event offered no-cost health screenings, vaccinations for children, nutrition counseling, and access to primary care referrals. FC100 member and President & CEO of Broward Health Shane Strum said the effort was designed to bring essential services directly to families who often face barriers to healthcare access. “We’re meeting people where they are,” Strum explained, highlighting the mobile nature of the services and their importance to community wellbeing. In addition to medical services, the first 600 guests received food baskets to help ease the burden of food insecurity.

With continued support from city leaders and public health advocates, Shane & Broward Health’s mobile outreach is advancing FC100’s commitment to expand access to primary care in underserved areas and build healthier communities across Florida.
