Duke Energy Florida, led by FC100 Member Melissa Seixas, is helping prepare the next generation of Florida’s workforce through Duke Energy Foundation’s $773,000 investment in 22 nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions working to strengthen STEM education across the state. The grants expand access to hands-on learning opportunities and help prepare Florida students for careers in high-demand industries, from energy and engineering to information technology. 

Under Seixas’ leadership, Duke Energy Florida has built lasting partnerships with universities, county education foundations, and community organizations throughout its service area. Some of the recipients include the foundations of Florida State, Florida A&M, Florida Polytechnic, University of Central Florida, and the University of South Florida, along with county education foundations across the state, supporting STEM curriculum, hands-on projects, and industry certifications that open doors to skilled careers.
