Supporting Florida’s Preparedness, Strengthening Community Resilience

Twelve Florida organizations are receiving a combined $163,000 in preparedness funding from The Duke Energy Foundation, led in part by FC100 member Melissa Seixas.

The grants will support everything from CPR training and AED placement to upgraded weather systems and storm kits for seniors. Recipients include the American Heart Association, Orange County Emergency Management, and Suncoast Young People Theatre.

As Florida continues to grow, efforts like this reflect a broader commitment to building resilient communities that can withstand tomorrow’s challenges—while staying safe today.
